TEGoVA objective’s

TEGoVA aims to assist its different members in their countries as well as in the rest of the European Union, emerging countries from Central and Eastern Europe.

The association has also set up a European platform where the ‘voice’ of the profession can be heard in front of European countries’ different legislators and politicians.

In the beginning of the 1980s, TEGoVA set up the Blue Book (or E.V.S. ‘European Valuation Standards’).

The aim of this is:

  • To promote definitions of valuation standards that are applicable throughout all European Union territories.
  • To obtain quality standards in terms of validation and methodology.
  • To offer transparent information about the different valuation methods and legal contexts in the different countries in Europe.

The EVS 2020 (9th edition) was published on January 1, 2021.

REV certifications by TEGoVA

At a European level, for several years there has been an official certification which recognises the valuers’ competence and earnestness: REV certification. It is awarded individually for a period of five years.

REV certification, created in 2006 by TEGoVA offers investors, financial institutions, large companies and players in the construction sector, in addition to the guarantee of the European Valuation Standards, a trans-European personal indicator of excellence based on experience and competence.

REV status is a mark of excellence in property valuation, showing international and local clients that the expert is qualified in a high standard European best practice. Since it was created, it has been awarded by main valuators’ associations throughout Europe.

The ‘REV’ name helps rapidly identify qualified experts in each country at a recognisable European level.

COFARIS EVALUATION experts are REV-certified in order to meet the regulation requirements (in accordance with DIRECTIVE CREDIT 2014/17/EU of the European Parliament).
